Recently, Korean boy band TVXQ had made their comeback being a duo and a new album. One of the most talk about from their music video for “Why (Keep Your Head Down)” was their intro which got netizens intrigued.
Rumors has it that duo TVXQ copied the intro from renowned singer/actor Bi Rain’s song “Up In The Club”.

I have never heard this song by Rain. This song is amazing and so hot!! I think this song would of been a hit in the US just like it is.
Anyway back to the topic. Yes, I feel they did copy the intro to Rain’s song Up In The Club. It sound exactly like his song intro.

i very love the intro of rain did this song it very hot to listing but anaway, yeah they did copy the intro i was so upset that they just cameback and won the award over MBLAQ “STAY” yesterday i am very not liking their MC is just so unfair and TVXQ

@Kongsao what award did they win over MBLAQ? What do you mean by MC? I am not familar with this group. Have they been out for a long time? Are they very popular?
I wouldn’t say it is copy, it has similarities but not total. And i don’t think TVXQ themselves know it since they were given the song to sing, it is not as if they composed the song. And TVXQ won the award cos of their ability to bring out the song. I don’t think they won the award just purely on that mere seconds of intro which resembles what Rain has.
i’ve heard this song for several times, and i think, yeah the intro part is same..but, i think it’s okay..because the just copied the intro part, not the whole song.
Even though “Up In Da Club” is my favorite and I have loved it since I first heard it last year, I like the other song too. I can’t really be mad at the other group because music “sampling” goes on all the time in the music industry. Hip Hop music is one genre where they sample music all the time. P. Diddy has used music sampling in the past and so have many others. So long as the original artist is given the proper credit AND compensation AND permission TO sample the song is granted, there should be no problems.
If the writers of “Up In Da Club” are taken care of, I am sure they are ok with TVXQ’s version. They want the other song to be a hit because the more it gets played that means the more music royalties come their (the original song writers) way.
